Energy-efficient refurbishment

In unrenovated old buildings, large amounts of heating energy can be saved – and therefore also costs – by improving the thermal insulation. There are good reasons to use interior insulation here: Wherever structural changes to the façade are not permitted, or the budget cannot stretch to the cost of insulating the entire building from the outside, or if only individual rooms or parts of the building are to be heated, external insulation is not an option.

Sustainable, successful energy efficiency improvements require a complex balancing of multiple individual measures, precisely at the points where unnecessary heat loss generates high energy costs. In addition to improving the energy standard, it is often also necessary to provide protection against driving rain for the existing structure.
