The right material for every application
In addition to wood, many other surfaces can be found on buildings and structures of all kinds. They often include components made of metal or plastic. There are a variety of coating options for protecting and/or finishing these surfaces.
Once the substrate has been cleaned and freed of dirt, release agents and non-load-bearing old coatings, Remmers offers various systems and one-pot systems that offer both protection and a high-quality aesthetic finish. Whether you are painting guttering, coating fences and railings, renovating plastic windows or coating radiators, the Remmers range offers the right material for every application.
An optimum coated finish can be achieved even on plastic and metal façades with a large surface area. Most products can be applied by brushing, spraying and rolling to achieve the best possible surface area output.
Gutters, downpipes, fences and railings
Knowing the type of metal and the corresponding substrate preparation is crucial for successful metal coatings. Iron and steel are cleaned and prepared using diluted products. If corrosion is present, it must be thoroughly removed to ensure good adhesion.
Galvanised steel requires zinc washing or cleaning with a wetting agent. Special cleaners such as Aqua MR-91 Multi-Purpose Cleaner are suitable for this. After wet sanding and rinsing with water, the coating can be applied to galvanised steel. The Multi-Purpose Cleaner can be applied using the wet sanding method: as soon as the galvanised steel has been washed off with water, it can be coated.
This means quick and easy coating of gutters, downpipes, metal windows and parts that have already been pre-coated at the factory. The Remmers range includes products that visually enhance the surface while also protecting against corrosion, making them ideal for exterior applications. Non-ferrous metals such as copper, non-anodised aluminium, brass or bronze can also be coated by brushing, spraying and rolling after pre-sanding.

Radiator coating
The mostly water-based paints and varnishes in the Remmers range can also be used indoors. When it comes to interior metal coating, a wide variety of radiator types come into play: panel, sectional, tubular and so on.
Over the years, wear and tear on radiator coatings can cause them to become yellowed, dirty or even slightly rusty – that’s when a fresh coat of paint is needed. Once the surfaces have been sanded, they can be coated 1-2 times with the 3 in 1 paints to restore them to their former glory. Depending on the type of radiator, spray application is best suited for coating.
