The versatile wonders of wood

Comfortable. Natural. Sustainable.

Windows and doors are the “face” of a building. They are the point where the outside and inside meet, they let in sunlight and they keep the warmth inside. But more than that, they are a major part of a building’s personality and help give it a unique style.

That’s why choosing the right building elements and materials is often difficult. Find out more about wooden windows and doors here, and you will soon realise that windows made from wood – the material that’s a gift from nature – are always a good choice.

Pleasant room climate

The naturalness of wood cannot be replaced by any decorative film or style duplicates. Because wood can do so much more: it conducts heat only slightly and regulates humidity. This creates a pleasant feel-good climate in the room.

Wooden windows help save money

Unbelievable, but true: a 1 cm thick board insulates just as well as a 10 cm thick brick wall. This is why wooden windows are also suitable for passive houses. Wooden windows save energy and are therefore easy on the wallet.

Sustainable and economical

Palaces, castles and listed buildings - they all usually have wooden windows and doors that will last for generations. For this reason, public subsidies and grants are available.

RIG care tips in the guide

You’ve made the decision to install wooden windows or a wooden front door. There’s something about the natural charm of this warm and inviting material that just draws you in. By choosing wood, not only are you doing something good for our environment, you are also achieving your dream of a natural look and cosy living.

Despite the exceptional protection provided by the Induline premium coating, your wooden windows will thank you for a little extra care over the years. This is no more time-consuming than maintaining furniture with polish. Applying maintenance balm after cleaning the windows creates a protective film that keeps the wooden frames in good condition. As wooden windows do not become electrostatically charged, dust deposits will be washed away next time it rains. Painted components must be touched up every 2 years.

Cleaning & maintenance only needed every 2 years

You only need to use the Remmers cleaner and maintenance balm (both included in the Remmers Care Kit) every two years to keep your wooden windows and doors protected and looking great for the next decade and beyond.

Yearly inspection

Once a year, take the time to give your windows and doors a thorough inspection. Check all the seals and surfaces. Oil all hinges and moving parts and readjust them.
