RIG façade – 10 years of driving rain-proof façades

Reliable protection for your façade

Against moisture and driving rain

There is no universal panacea for façade protection and repair. Different building materials are exposed to different environmental influences. This is why the Funcosil product systems from Remmers offer the right system solution for every problem encountered on façades.

There is also a 10-year guarantee on Remmers products and their processing by a certified RIG specialist company.

Safe, lasting protection against moisture

Hydrophobic treatments

Facades with exposed masonry made of brick, sand-lime brick, render or natural stone have no inherent protection against moisture. In driving rain, they can absorb enormous quantities of water like a sponge due to capillary water absorption.

The consequences:

  • An uncomfortable indoor environment
  • Heating costs rise
  • The façade gradually turns green
  • Frost attack in winter starts a process of destruction
The comparatively simple measure of hydrophobic impregnation, which makes the exposed masonry water-repellent, is the only correct solution to many damage mechanisms. This protects your façade from damage and saves valuable energy at the same time. The core product is the innovative Funcosil façade cream in a creamy consistency with new application benefits and improved impregnation properties for all porous mineral building materials with macro-pores or capillary pores.

Permanently driving rain-proof joints and façades

Brick pointing

Did you know that up to 20% of a brick façade consists of the joint network? If this crumbles, driving rain can easily find its way into the building, creating an uncomfortable living environment and causing heating costs to rise by up to 50%. Funcosil brick grout pointing is an efficient way to create brick façades that are permanently resistant to driving rain. It works in the same way as grouting after tiling and turns your brick façade into a water-repellent surface. It essentially consists of two elements: the renewal of the joints by applying a hydraulically hardening joint material and the water-repellent treatment of the façade with hydrophobising agents.

The result speaks for itself:

  • Flush joints and bricks, with no protruding edges
  • Secure refurbishment of all joints, as the water-repellent zone extends deep into the brickwork
  • Improved thermal insulation of the dry façade
  • Time and cost savings – up to 25% compared to manual pointing
