    • Preparation
      • Substrate requirements

The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease and loose substances, and prepared in the correct manner.

        Wood moisture content: 8-12%

Final wood sanding no finer than P 180

      • Preparations

Thoroughly remove any dirt, grease and non-adhering old coatings.

Wash off greasy or resin-rich woods/substrates with WV-891 or V-890. Use UN-894 indoors on the construction site. Ensure good ventilation for solvents.

If you wish to add colour, prime with Decorative Wax Stain or OB-008.

If applying a subsequent coating using a roller: intermediate drying time min. 24 hours.

When sealing old parquet flooring, end-grain wood parquet and installation patterns with the wood grain running in different directions, we recommend pre-treating with OB-008 clear and leaving to dry for at least 48 hours in order to ensure that the substrate is thoroughly saturated and absorbs the material evenly.

    • Application
      • Temperature of the material, air and substrate: from min. +15 °C to max. +25 °C
      • Stir before use
      • Stir well.

For better wetting of the substrate and pores, we recommend applying the first coat as a slurry or with a roller.

Apply by spraying or with a roller.

Flow cup gun: nozzle: 1.6 - 1.8 mm; atomiser air pressure: max. 2 bar

        Airless spraying: nozzle size: 0.23 - 0.28 mm, material pressure: 80 - 120 bar.

Airmix spraying: nozzle 0.23 - 0.28 mm, material pressure: 80 - 100 bar, atomiser air pressure: max. 1 bar.

After drying and intermediate sanding (P 240 - 320), apply a second coat of the product.

Observe the waiting times between coats.

Seal opened containers well and use contents as soon as possible.

    • Application instructions
      • Drying time: can be worked over after 6 h
      • Check colour, adhesion and compatibility with the substrate by setting up a trial area.

For optimal chemical resistance on porous woods in areas subject to higher levels of stress, the first coat should be applied using a roller or brush to ensure that the pores are wetted and saturated.

Before coating technically modified woods and wood-based materials, apply the product to a trial surface and conduct a suitability test on the desired area of use.

For smoked oak and other exotic woods, Remmers Technical Service must be consulted prior to use and a trial area set up.

Owing to the high reactivity of the product, skin formation may occur. Please remove before stirring and sieve as a precaution.

Make sure the area is well ventilated when using indoors.

Dispose spray dust deposits regularly to avoid ignition of the spray dust.

Avoid ultra-fine material atomisation and excessive overspray.

Leave fresh spraying dust to dry before sweeping up.

The product itself is not self-igniting.

When sanding wooden surfaces that have been treated with the product, always wear respiratory protection (dust filter mask P2).

Risk of self-ignition (DGUV information brochure 209-046).

The product should not be applied at the same work stand as NC-based varnishes or stains. Collect any textiles soiled with the product (e.g. cleaning rags, work clothing) in fire-resistant waste containers and dispose of properly.

      • Drying

Practice values at +20 °C and 65% relative humidity.

Low temperatures and high humidity delay drying.

Drying is dependent on the type of wood and the absorbency of the substrate.

    • Working tools / cleaning
      • Short-pile (3-5 mm) velour or mohair roller, flow cup gun, airless/airmix spraying equipment, filler knife

Clean tools immediately after use with V 101 Thinner.

Ensure that any residue from cleaning is disposed of correctly.

    • Storage / shelf life
      • Store frost-free and cool / protect for moisture / close containers

    • Usage
      • Total application/absorption rate 130 ml Total / m²
      • First coat: 70 ml/m²

    • General information
      • DIN EN 71-3 "Migration of certain elements":

This product complies with the limits for the migration of heavy metals to children's toys according to DIN EN 71-3 and thus fulfils one of several further requirements for the safety of children's toys according to the EU "Toy Directive" (2009/48/EC).

Oil-based products contain natural ingredients. Under the influence of UV light, exclusion of light (dark yellowing), heat or individual changes in the wood, these can lead to a change in the surface. The surfaces therefore require special care. Please refer to the information sheet on general application instructions for oils and waxes. White, pastel and grey tones can lose their intensity within a short period of time. This happens depending on the type of wood used, substances contained in the wood, exposure to light and heat. If these changes are not desired, a stained and lightfast lacquered surface finish is recommended.

Use breathable materials when packing the coated wood building elements.

Dust and loose dirt on floors and stairs should be removed regularly using a soft broom or mop.

For maintenance (including partial maintenance on traffic areas subject to particular levels of wear), treat the cleaned surface with the product or with Hard Wax Oil in such a way that it blends in to produce a uniform finish.

For complete care and maintenance, we recommend the use of care products for oiled wooden surfaces. Follow the instructions provided by the care product manufacturer.

Please refer to the relevant test reports/certificates and the Technical Data Sheet for information on certified products and configurations.

For applications according to the Marine Equipment Directive, the maximum wet application rate is 140 g/m².

    • Disposal instructions
      • Larger quantities of leftover product should be disposed of in the original containers in accordance with the applicable regulations. Completely empty, clean containers should be recycled. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Do not allow to enter the sewage system. Do not empty into drains.

    • Safety / regulations
      • For further information on the safety aspects of transporting, storing and handling the product and on disposal and environmental matters, please see the current Safety Data Sheet.
