Spiral staircase, Rapunzel Naturkost, Legau, Germany
The Rapunzel World visitor centre in Legau has been giving tourists a true taste of nature since November 2022. However, the real centre of attention is the beautiful and unique solid wood spiral staircase. With a total weight of around twelve tonnes and a height of 14.5 metres, the unique solid wood spiral staircase in the atrium of the visitor centre has become a real eye-catcher. It serves as a link between the three wings of the building and its three storeys. With its natural wood finish, the floor covering is the perfect complement to the interior concept.

- Short description
- Sustainability played a major role in the choice of materials: The wood for the staircase came from sustainable forestry and the wood waste generated during the construction of the staircase was also reused. The products used were also chosen for their sustainable credentials. At the same time, they also need to withstand the high loads that are exerted on the stairs and floors by numerous visitors over long periods of time.
