The ‘Schoolkerk’ (school church) is a project that aims to give Dutch schoolchildren the chance to experience religious traditions from a young age. The restored church building in Garmerwolde is used as a facility for both schooling and religious education. In addition to the restoration of the church, a new reception building was also constructed on the site.

- Short description
- The new reception building next to the school church has a large window façade. The window frames were treated with natural effect varnishes in order to preserve the natural appearance of the Accoya wood and protect it against the elements. The internal walls were treated with Decorative Wax Stain. This product is recommended for damp rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens, making it ideal for the reception building since this is also used as a cafe.
