Downloads & documents
The stated values represent typical product characteristics and are not to be construed as binding product specifications.
Field of application
- For use on interior and exterior wood
- Maintenance and levelling of greyed and spotted wood surfaces
- Dimensionally stable wood building elements: e.g. windows and doors
- Wood building elements with limited dimensional stability, e.g. folding shutters, matchboarding, summerhouses
- Wood building elements with no dimensional stability: e.g. fences, framework, carports, planking
- Weatherproof and moisture-regulating
- Quick drying
- Good coverage with just one coat
- Very good adhesion to the substrate
The substrate must be clean, dust-free and dry.
Dimensionally stable wood building elements: wood moisture content 11-15%
Wood building elements with limited or no dimensional stability: wood moisture content max. 18%
Thoroughly remove any dirt, grease and non-adhering old coatings.
Using a brass brush, thoroughly clean greyed and weathered wood surfaces to ensure optimum adhesion.
Remove any loose and torn knots as well as resin that bleeds from the wood and clean with a suitable product (e.g. V 101 Thinner).
Exterior wood that is to be protected against insects, blue stain and rot must first be treated with Aqua IG-15 Impregnation Primer IT* - this is not necessary for interior wood (*use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use).
Round off sharp edges.
Observe BFS Code of Practice No. 18 "Coatings on Wood and Wooden Working Materials in Outdoor Areas".
Temperature of the material, air and substrate: from min. +5 °C to max. +25 °C
Apply by brush.
Apply in the direction of the grain.
After drying, apply intermediate and final coats of medium-build or high-build stains.
Seal opened containers well and use contents as soon as possible.
Check colour and compatibility with the substrate by applying a trial coat.
Before coating technically modified woods and wood-based materials, apply the coating to a trial surface and conduct a suitability test on the desired area of use.
When renovating windows and exterior doors, we recommend an intermediate sanding step using sandpaper (P180) or a fine sanding sponge prior to further coating.
Dust-dry: approx. 1 hour Overcoating: approx. 3 hours
Practice values at +20 °C and 65% relative humidity.
Low temperatures, poor ventilation and high humidity delay drying.
