The Remmers Group's purchasing activities are structured according to spend types and product groups. The "Direct Spend" spend type includes the commodity groups raw materials, packaging and merchandise, along with their respective subgroups. "Indirect Spend" includes all commodity groups that are needed to ensure development, production, distribution and administration. As a company in the chemical industry, raw materials account for the lion's share of our purchasing volume.
In organisational terms, Remmers Group Purchasing is divided into two parts.
In the strategically oriented central purchasing department, procurement markets are analysed and evaluated, and commodity group and supplier strategies are developed and implemented. This is also where suppliers are managed, prices and conditions are agreed, and contracts are concluded.
Direct Spend items are planned, ordered and managed by the Operational Purchasing departments at our production sites until they are delivered on time and in full.
The Remmers Group's Central Purchasing department carries out its structuring and negotiation mandate for all companies in the Group.
