Double effect: pore-tightening and water-repellent

The injection procedure with Kiesol not only makes pores and channels in the masonry hydrophobic, but also seals them or at least narrows them considerably. This means that capillary water transport is no longer possible. The first test certificate for Kiesol dates back to 1965 and was issued by the North Rhine-Westphalia State Materials Testing Office. It certifies the effectiveness of Kiesol against rising damp (capillary absorbency).

Decades of experience with Kiesol, as well as todays` WTA certificates, show that the active ingredient concentrate can penetrate deeply and evenly into the masonry. Unpressurised injection is possible up to moisture penetration levels of 80 %; pressurised injection is necessary for higher moisture penetration levels. For cavity masonry, the advanced method with Kiesol iK is used in combination with the shrinkage-compensated, highly sulphate-resistant BSP borehole suspension.
