    Field of application

    • For use indoors and outdoors
    • For professional users only
    • For interior and exterior
    • Primer
    • Plastic substrates
    • Metal substrates, e.g. (galvanised) steel, pure aluminium, copper, brass
    • Tiles, ceramics & glass
    • Wood

    • Water-based
    • Very good adhesion to the substrate
    • Protects against corrosion
    • Can be overcoated with many products: (see system products)
    • Solvent-free and environmentally friendly
    • Low odour
    • Preparation
      • Substrate requirements

The substrate must be firm, dimensionally stable, capable of bearing loads and free of loose constituents, dust, oil, grease, rubber marks and other substances that could interfere with adhesion.

      • Preparations

Thoroughly remove any dirt, grease and non-adhering old coatings.

Basic sanding: depending on the substrate P180 - P320.

        Iron, steel:

Derust thoroughly. Remove scale layers and rolling skin (derust manually to SA 3 standard of cleanliness). The best results are achieved if the substrate has been sand blasted to SA 2.5 standard of cleanliness (DIN EN ISO 12944-4).

        Zinc (galvanised steel):

Clean with an ammonium-based wetting agent, using an abrasive pad. Observe BFS Code of Practice No. 5.

Clean with V 101 or V-890 thinner, or a cleaning agent that contains phosphoric acid. Observe BFS Code of Practice No. 6.

Treat old EP coatings, acrylic, and HPL with Thinner V 101 or V-890 and abrasive fleece.

        Tiles, ceramics and glass :

Clean with V 101 or V-890 thinner, or a cleaning agent that contains phosphoric acid. Observe BFS Code of Practice No. 6.

    • Application
      • Temperature of the material, air and substrate: from min. +15 °C to max. +25 °C
      • By brush/By roller/Flow cup gun
      • Working time 1 h
      • Application requirements

Temperature of material, environment and substrate: min. +15 °C up to max. +25 °C

      • Stir well.

Apply with a brush, roller or by spraying.

Apply the material with a suitable acrylic bristle brush or a suitable microfibre roller and then resize.

Flow cup gun: nozzle 2.5 mm, atomizer air pressure: 2.0 - 3.0 bar.

Good ventilation must be ensured so that water can be released into the air.

After drying and intermediate sanding, coat with a water-based or solvent-based lacquer.

Observe the waiting times between coats.

    • Application instructions
      • A trial coating must be applied prior to application of the product in order to check the adhesion and compatibility of the coating.

      • Drying

        Dust dry: approx. 30 minutes
        Recoatable: after 3 hours (water-based)
        Recoatable: after 16 hours (solvent-based)
        Sand immediately before painting over

Practice values at +20 °C and 65% relative humidity.

For faster drying, the coated object can be dried in a drying chamber up to a temperature of 60 °C.

Low temperatures, poor ventilation and high humidity delay drying.

Longer drying times can improve the sealing effect.

    • Working tools / cleaning
      • By brush/By roller/Flow cup gun
      • Brush with acrylic bristles, microfibre roller, flow cup gun, suitable mixing device

      • Wash tools and any splashed material with water immediately and while wet.

Take suitable protective and waste disposal measures when cleaning.

Ensure that any residue from cleaning is disposed of correctly.

    • Storage / shelf life
      • Store frost-free
      • Shelf-life 12 months
      • If stored unopened in its original container in a cool, dry place and protected against frost, the product will keep for at least 12 months.

    • Usage
      • Approx. 100 ml / m² per layer applied
      • Adhesive primer: 1 x 100 ml/m²
For corrosion protection and to seal off substances in the wood: 2 x 100 ml/m²

    • General information
      • The end of the pot life cannot be recognised by increased viscosity or temperature, thus the max. working time must be strictly observed.

Check colour, adhesion and compatibility with the substrate by setting up a trial area.

Adhesion to the substrate and adhesion of system products.

Low temperatures, low air exchange and high humidity cause drying delays and can delay the achievement of the final bond strength for up to 7 days. This is especially true for coloured shades.

    • Disposal instructions
      • Larger quantities of leftover product should be disposed of in the original containers in accordance with the applicable regulations. Completely empty, clean containers should be recycled. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Do not allow to enter the sewage system. Do not empty into drains.

    • Safety / regulations
      • For further information on the safety aspects of transporting, storing and handling the product and on disposal and environmental matters, please see the current Safety Data Sheet and the brochure entitled "Epoxy Resins in the Construction Industry and the Environment", issued by Deutsche Bauchemie e.V.
