Product specifications
On delivery
The stated values represent typical product characteristics and are not to be construed as binding product specifications.
Field of application
- For use on interior and exterior wood
- Soft and hard woods
- Dimensionally stable wood building elements: e.g. windows and doors
- Wood building elements with limited dimensional stability: e.g. matchboarding, facade elements
Properties
- Good pore wetting performance
- Outstanding (wet) adhesion
- UV-curing: very quick handling
- High UV protection thanks to special binder
-
Preparation
-
Substrate requirements
The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease and loose substances, and prepared in the correct manner.
Dimensionally stable wood building elements: wood moisture content 11-15%
Wood building elements with limited or no dimensional stability: wood moisture content max. 18%
-
Preparations
If necessary, impregnate non-resistant woods with a wood preservative* (*Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use).
Observe BFS Code of Practice No. 18 "Coatings on Wood and Wooden Working Materials in Outdoor Areas".

Application
-
Application requirements
Temperature of the material, air and substrate: from min. +15 °C to max. +30 °C
-
The values given are based on undiluted material. The best spraying pattern is achieved if the material has a temperature of 15-20 °C.
Airless spraying: nozzle size: 0.28-0.33 mm; material pressure: 70-90 bar.
Air-mix spraying: nozzle size: 0.28-0.33 mm; material pressure: 70-90 bar, atomiser air pressure 1-2 bar.
Apply further coatings after drying and UV curing
Seal opened containers well and use contents as soon as possible.
-
Application instructions
-
Check colour, adhesion and compatibility with the substrate by setting up a trial area.
Substances in oak may bleed, causing dark discolouration, when coated with water dilutable dispersion stains.
To prevent any substances in the wood from becoming active, forced drying should be carried out.
The product is not self-crosslinking and must be cured using a suitable UV lamp
Ensure good ventilation.
Observe current standards and guidelines for coating wood building elements outdoors (Codes of Practice issued by the German Association of Window and Facade Manufacturers (VFF), Code of Practice No. 18 issued by the German Federal Committee for Paint and the Protection of Material Assets (BFS), guidelines issued by the German Lacquer and Printing Ink Association (VdL) and ift guidelines issued by the Institut für Fenstertechnik).

Drying
Physical drying:
UV curing: after approx. 4 hours (at 23 °C and 50% RH)
UV curing after forced drying: after approx. 20 minutes evaporation zone (at approx. 20 °C and 65 - 75% RH) / 45 minutes drying phase (approx. 45 °C; 1 m/s air circulation)
UV curing:
Lamp types: Ga+Hg
Lamp power: 80-120 watt/cm²
Cross-linking energy values:
clear UV+ & light colours
500 - 800 mJ/cm²
dark colours
800 - 1000 mJ/cm²
Distance between object and lamp: 20-30 cm
These parameters are guide values. Precise parameters are determined on a customer-specific basis.
Can be sanded and overcoated: after 10 minutes cooling phase -
Thinning
