Stains for soft wood

Good price-performance ratio and versatile design options

Domestic soft woods like larch, European spruce and pine are popular both in a solid form and also as a veneer in living areas. They offer a good price-performance ratio and can be use in a number of designs with the right surface treatment.

Soft wood can be designed in many ways

Design options

Soft wood are real eye-catchers both when left natural (e.g. With a raw wood effect paint or oiled) or even when oiled.

In particular, a positive stain effect with special emphasis of the hard annual rings is still popular.

What do you need to bear in mind?

  • Stir all stains carefully before and after processing
  • The end colour is only achieved after painting and may vary depending on the paint type.
This is why you should always create samples first
  • If necessary, wet the wood before staining to prevent stains forming.
  • Positive stain agents may only be dried at room temperature for optimum effect.

AQUA PB-006-Positive stain

The kit comprises the four basic colours - red brown, yellow-green, anthracite and white. These basic colours are highly concentrated stain mixes based on pigments and reactive dyes. Adding Aqua PB-006 transparent will lighten the concentrates as required. This creates a variety of colours and nuances with very marked positive effects. Specific mixing of the concentrates can create an infinite spectrum of colours. This collection also has other mixing examples with Aqua PB-006.

OB-008-Oil stains

The stain type OB-008 oil stains is available in 6 attractive ready-to-use basic colours. OB-008 is specially designed for used below oil, wax and alkyd-based wood finishes. Specific mixing of the concentrates can create a variety of other modern design variants. As required, all colours can be lightened by using OB-008 transparent.

Comment: The stain colours shown were covered with HWS-112-hard wax seal. Due to the inherent colour of the oil and alkyd-based wood finish, white-based tones in particular have a creamy look.
